LAWTON, OK – November 15, 2018 – Hilliary Communications has entered into an agreement with Border to Border Communications of Kerrville, Texas, currently servicing Zapata, Texas. The sale is subject to routine regulatory approvals but is expected to be completed by year-end 2018.
Joe & Jimmy John started Border to Border Communications in 1994, to service rural Zapata County in 1994. With a total investment of over $10 million dollars and more than 300 miles of fiber and copper lines, B2B has remained in sync with emerging trends in the industry. Hilliary Communications will continue to improve the capacity of the network while seeking opportunities to play a vital role in the community.
“My grandfather purchased a small telephone company with less than 100 customers. He believed that the rural community of Medicine Park, Oklahoma, had to be connected in order to stay competitive. While our company still provides voice services 60 years later, my family and I believe that access to internet can make a difference in the lives of rural America,” said Edward Hilliary, Managing Partner, Hilliary Communications.
From a single exchange with less than 100 lines to operations in more than 25 communities in rural Oklahoma and Texas, Hilliary Communications remains committed to connecting rural America through aggressive CLEC deployments and the purchase of independent companies.
“We are continually looking for acquisitions in both the ILEC and CLEC marketplace across the Midwest and Southern United States,” said Dustin Hilliary, Managing Partner, Hilliary Communications. “We will thoroughly assess every opportunity we come across.”
Hilliary Communications: Hilliary Communications operates two ILEC properties in Oklahoma and a CLEC in Oklahoma. Hilliary proudly serves over 7,000 subscribers in Oklahoma and North Texas, operating in excess of 900 route miles of fiber providing transport services. At present, Hilliary Communications is deploying a new FTTH system to 8,000 new homes in Central Oklahoma.
